Ember Spirit Guide - Xin Build & Strategy



DotA Xin Guide, The Ember Spirit Guide, Strategy & Build. Xin is an agility hero which is introduced on the DotA 6.73. This post will provide you with the Xin Guide, the Xin Strategy, the Xin Item Build and the Ember Spirit Skill Build.

Attack Range: 128 (melee)

Total starting damage: 52-56
Total starting armor: 3

Strength: 21 + 2.0
Agility: 22 + 1.8
Intelligence: 20 + 1.8


In sword forging furnaces of war, something powerful was taking shape. In a desperate bid to make superior weapons a sword smith by the name of Xin captured and bound a fire spirit to his forge. After countless hours of toil, a single pair of swords were born of the enchanted furnace. While holding and admiring the mystical blades the fire spirit was able to pass into Xin's body creating a being born of flesh and flame. Xin became more powerful than the soldiers he was tasked to outfit, and march out himself to dispatch the enemies of warmth and life. Equipped with burning steel and blazing speed, Xin tears through his enemies leaving nothing but a cinder.

Xin the Ember Spirit Skills

Searing Chains (Active, no target)



Xin unleashes up to 3 fiery bolas that wrap around nearby enemies, anchoring them in place and dealing damage each second.

AoE: 400
Duration: 2/2/3/3 seconds
DPS: 40/60/80/100

Cooldown: 14/12/10/8
Manacost: 110

Note: Selects 3 random enemies within the area. Does not affect magic immune or invisible heroes. Does not prevent attacks or spell casting.

Sleight of Fist (Active, ground target)



Xin dashes around with blazing speed, attacking all enemies in the targeted AoE and returns to where he was standing after. You deal 50% less damage to creeps.

You are invulnerable during this process. Takes 0.2 seconds to attack per unit.

Bonus Hero Damage: +30/60/90/120

AoE: 250/350/450/550
Cast Range: 700

Manacost: 50
Cooldown: 30/22/14/6
Ability Code: A2H0

Flame Guard (active, no target)



Xin surrounds himself with a ring of fire that consumes incoming magic damage, leaving him unharmed. Deals dps in a 400 aoe. If the shield is dispelled, the dps buff goes away.

DPS: 30/35/40/45
Magic Shell: 150/300/450/600

Duration: 8/12/16/20 (or when the barrier dies)

Manacost: 80/90/100/110
Cooldown: 35
Ability Code: A2HS

Fire Remnant (Active, ground target)



Xin charges himself with the energy to create a Fire Remnant every 30 seconds, with a max of 3 charges. Releasing a charge, sends a Fire Remnant that runs to the targeted point at 2.5 times your speed. Xin can use his secondary ability to dash out to each remnant's location, detonating them for AoE damage, and arriving at the one he targeted last. Remnants last 45 seconds or until you fuse with them. The remnant placing ability is limited by charges and not cooldown or manacost.

Remnant Charge Replenish Time: 30 seconds
Remnant Duration: 45 seconds
Remnant Cast Range: 1500



The secondary ability lets you target a location closest to whichever Remnant you want to choose. Xin will then dash out going through each remnant, arriving at the selected remnant last. Each Remnant you go through causes it to detonate, dealing damage in the area around it.

    good hero, you can kill as many as ursa does.
    first get arcane as soon as possible.
    then SNY
    Battlefury
    butterfly
    2 more items as the game still playing, your choice :)

    skill build, 
    get skill 1 and 2 first then ultimate.

    rush for arcane boots
    buy tp's always
    farm radiance in 15 mins of the game

    kill, neuts, use ulti to neuts.. tp to fountain.. then get back to neuts.

    GET GUINSOO and GG!

    you're gg. SO YOU MUST TAKE DOWN THE TOWERS FAST! 

    or kill roshan and get aegis.
    go ftw to the enemies and let your team mates take down the disablers and GG.

    i like to max out 1st and 3rd skill early in the game. and go ballin' to non-stunning heroes. afterwards, go to neuts then to lane and vice versa. FARM RADIANCE. show up in the team fights. TRY TO FINISH EARLY! if not possible go for bkb OR linken's OR guinsoo. BUT it depends.. if they have overpowering "hitters" i'd remake the build and go for double butterfly replace the arcane with BOT and go ballin', taking down disablers and then carry heroes. always use yours skills for insane farming! hope this helps! GG

    this hero is more a mid gamer than a late killer he has well balanced stats but he's not the type of guy who can fight 1 on 1 and win! he needs to gank he has no choice he doesn't have passive abilties like critical or evasion he has a disable and a few blinks (second spell and ultimate) and has a good shield which helps him survive incredebly in early and mid game! but in late game all he can do is suppert his team with a few spells so items like basher or buriza or monkey king bar

    my item build is:

    boots of travel
    empty bottle for mana
    and ring of aquila for early
    than i get linken of sange and yasha dipends  if you are spending your time hitting enemies or casting spells
    and what every agility needs butterfly
    and battlefury for his second skill
    and radiance

    so final item build is:
    boots of travel
    linken
    batterfly
    radiance
    battlefury
    and heart or satanic also depends if you're hitting the opponent or more like casting spells

    i played this 1v1 against chaos knight and it was ok but u ned alot of agi to burst down tankys but overall a gd hero to use in a 5v5 mid game mid pusher, he can down their main ad fast

    Boot Travel
    Dagon lv2~lv3
    Ethereal blade
    Radiance
    Linken

    the last item depend on your style play..Tanker - go for HeartSupport - go for ShivaKiller - go for Butterfly ....combo style 3rd skills open > Ulti x2 > 1st skills > Etheral > Dagon normally Agi & int hero already die ...
    Tanker 3/4 hp gone..

    Enemies run , use another balance 1xUlti to chase ....just my 2 cents sharing :)In game use this hero .... if no leaver .. atleast can kill 20 above with 17 ++ assistant :D

    The only way to show Xin's fast true colour, 
    Well,
    Try this...Early game (0 - 15 minutes),
    1. Power Threads (Survival with STR type boots on)
    2. Ring of Aquila
    3. Bottle (Ganker?? Of course...)
    4. Preserverance (Needs good magic spam)
    5. Magic Wand (Better survival)
    6. Town Portal (u should always buy a TP :P)

    Farm3...

    Mid Game (20-26 minutes)
    1. Power Threads
    2. Battle Fury (second skill effectiveness)
    3. Sange and Yasha (survival, AS% and MS%!! :P)
    4. Linken Sphere (always wanted to be at top of the world :D)
    5. TP (its still is optional though, else, just goof around with other items... but i still prefer more survival, more tank and serious damager [Xin is kinda support hero but still kills though XD])
    6. Ultimate Orb (:p wait for late-game luxury build)

    Super (well not really) Farm3...

    Late Game (infinity) [Luxury Style 1]
    1. Boots of Travel
    2. Linken's Sphere
    3. Battle Fury
    4. Sange & Yasha (you can replace this if you dont like it...)
    5. Eye of Skadi/MJollnir (its 60% tank - 40% kill or 70% kill - 30% tank [but I still prefer to survive though XD], your choice...)
    6. [Free Slot] (give this hero anything that your creative mind got!! XD)
