Dota 6.58 Beta - Storm Spirit Panda Remake Preview

does storm spirit has WW now? or an illusion skill perhaps.. try to guess wut it is.. or maybe storm spirit is an AGI now.. lol.. but im afraid that is way out of the box..

Nah, he's still intel from the looks of his stats. But, you never know: brood, ursa, and others have had odd stat distributions.

I really liked Storm Spirit, especially Overload and Grapple... He was one of the few int hero that could go with pure dps and be effective lategame. I hope IceFrog didn't change it too much...

Yeah, its still INT based hero if you noticed the 2nd picture. So I wanna ask, does new Storm Spirit has Chain Lightning, Forked Lightning or Dopplewalk?

What bout his ultimate give damage to the road he pass ??!!

The 1st picture seems to be like a fork lightning that can be targeted on the ground.

The 2nd picture looks like a buff that increases MS, or AS.

3rd is like razor's ulti.

The last picture has like Magina's new blink fading effect.


All are just my speculations, who knows?

if you look carefull, you you notice that the str and agi status have been swithched

ok after reading the comments and carefully examining the pictures, here's what i got.

1st and 4th picture look like the same skill which resembles a lightning damage spell (fork, chain) however, if you look closely, it is more similar to a wall kinda like Dark Seer's ulti... so it might be a variation of that (damage perhaps?)

2nd picture, going by what the poster above me said... seems like switching STR and AGI attributes... so its like Storm's skill before but totally different at the same time.

Now for the last one and this one is the most ridiculous. I'm guessing the 3rd, 5th and 6th pictures are all about the same skill... What does it do? You basically blink but any enemy in between the are you blinked are chain lightninged? kinda farfetched but its not impossible.

If I'm wrong about that one... I'm guessing the 5th one as the ulti... since it gives the least amount of info in the picture (probably cause it's cool).

Skill 1 Static Remnant
creates an invisible immobile copy of storm spirit that deals damage when enemy touches. Reveals the fog of war 800 aoe around the copy.
70 manacost

skill 2 Electric fortex
Binds enemy with electricity, pulling it very slowly to storm but storm moves slow to. last maybe 2 seconds.
110 manacost(if im not mistaken)

skill 3 overload
Not sure about this but every time i cast spell, the overload triggers. It gives the aoe slow and extra damage.

Ultimate Ball Lightning
0 cooldown blink. Cut trees around storm as he land. Very mana consuming. with full mana he could blink through half of the map. 50 damage for every enemies that he passes through when using this.

Just thought I'd tell u guys something. He DID get a stat growth change. look at his stats in the pic. notice how close his agility is to his intel? last time it used to be strength as way higher than agility. Maybe icefrog wants him to be a dpser?

Actually, Storm was always a DPS hero. He had high attack speed and AoE damage every few hits from Overload.
The difference now is that he has an INCREDIBLE escape mechanism (0 cooldown Blink for ultimate) if what Dota Freak says is correct... so what IceFrog has done is exchange his STR and AGI, leaving him with much lower STR. The increase in AGI is also nice, since he no longer has an IAS boosting skill.

^i wish it was leaked before. It looks like it has been harder to find the betas now than it was a few versions ago.

Indeed.

But there's a problem with making a hero as mana-dependent as Storm Spirit seems to be - mana burn [b]destroys[/b] him. Considering how popular Diffusal is in the current version, and how low the new Storm Spirit's HP seems to be... I think playing him could be more of a challenge than you might think.

Honestly, Storms is an int agi-wannabe but ultimately fails because other heroes does the job better. This remake actually tries to make a unique hero out of storm in terms of gameplay. However, as far as the beta plays out, I find mana problems are much more rampant now than his previous incarnation. Although the concept is pretty good.

you got a point there but actually, IceFrog changing Storm makes him weaker... Storm will have no more Barrier which makes him hard to kill with spells. He can also be killed with finishing spells like Assassinate... he's skills are perfect why remake him??

Well, it's buff more than a nerf although it's a bit more difficult to use the skills properly. A zero cooldown blink (sort of) is really amazing and he finally gets a disable albeit not a stun. The Static Remnant is a great farming tool given it's low cd and mana cost.
Overload just became more consistent and combined with ball lightning it's pretty nasty. However, I still don't see the viability of both incarnations of the Storm Spirit.

well, that's what I mean... the skills are now more hard to use... it's just a matter of time that Storm Spirit users are going to hate this hero because of that remake!

The difficulty of the skills is a price to pay for the uniqueness of this SS role in the game. At least now you have a hero that is far from an auto-attack hero

holy crap!! storm doesnt need a remake. overload, barrier, grap are super skills. the new storm sucks. by the way its 4th skill do more damage with more distance travelled.
