Reconnect Dota Game is Now Possible!
One of the features which people love from Heroes of Newerth or League of Legends is the possibility to reconnect when you got DC (disconnect) from the game. This feature is unfortunately doesn't exist on the Warcraft 3 engine. But thanks to Varlock, there's a glimpse of light for this problem. He already successfully tested the function and planned to applied it to the Garena and other platform in the future. Here is the quote from IceFrog blog: Varlock, the developer of the popular Ghost hosting bot, has done a successful concept test on this functionality and will work on implementing it for public use in the future. The technology is portable for Garena (or anything else in theory, if someone wants to port it) as well.
He wanted me to try to help him gauge interest level for his project. It would basically require the host to be using the tool on bnet, garena or any other hosting platform the feature is ported to. Any player that wants to be able to reconnect would have the custom reconnect tool running, but players who are not using the tool could still play in the same games.
The exact time and schedule for its release is not defined yet. The main reason for this post is to help get him feedback so he can decide how much interest people have in it and consider his schedule accordingly. Well, even though this is useless for leavers, but it will help people who got disconnected by accident. Hope to seeing this implemented soon! :)

but game detect leave will get message say he left game... no turning back... and he will end up share control/gold with ally for the rest of the game... if it does not count as leave, then u cannot take leaver items forever... so it will be like HoN style reconnect (5minutes max) or host choose to drop?

If this is implemented we could start using a harder policy on real leavers (aka the people who do not reconnect).
Something like: I you have only few recorded games played till the end (dotastats), and leave in the last 5 minutes of the game you are not banned, but if you leave before and do not come back you are banned for 3 months.
It should be the most revolutionary implementation since anti-maphack is actually a bad joke. I'm looking forward to RECONNECT soon! All hail to IF and Varlock !!!
Fact: You can still map-hack, custom kick in Garena. I didn't believe it was possible until I saw it with my own eyes yesterday on 1.24c|6.66 version. Just a warning to who still thinks Garena is 100% clear and clean.
haaaay, Dota-blog IS one of my favorite sites...this is the only site i turn to whenever there is a new map...dota strategy is when i wanna use a new hero...darn i'm still waiting for 6.65 and 6.66 AI...can't w8...literally..
finally it comes! DC is not something to be worried anymore XD
